Andrea Garcia (she/her)
Andrea is thrilled to be part of The House of Bernarda Alba and hopes this is the first of many opportunities to share with Canberra audiences more stories of Spanish and Latin American playwrights.
Andrea made her ACT Hub debut in the role of Native American Johnna Monevata in the 2024 production of August: Osage County. In 2025, she portrayed Luisa in Baby Jane at Canberra REP, the World Premiere adaptation of Henry Farrell’s Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.
Andrea’s recent roles include Anita in the iconic musical West Side Story with Dramatic Productions (2023) and Kate Mundy in Dancing at Lughnasa as part of the inaugural student ensemble production of the Mockingbird Acting Studio (2022).
Andrea is also involved in Canberra’s theatre community as a member of the tech crew at Canberra REP, supporting the backstage lighting and sound operations of various productions.
A native of Colombia, Andrea has a life-long passion for theatre. Before calling Canberra home, Andrea lived in New York City where she earned a Master of Arts in Theatre at Hunter College of the City University of New York followed by the Two-Year Conservatory at The Acting Studio – New York, where she performed in productions of the Studio’s Chelsea Repertory Company.
